Japalens lets you scan Japanese product packages with your camera to see what a product is, translate the ingredients, highlight the allergens and diet concerns you set, and convert the price — in your language. You can also scan a barcode to quickly identify a product and see its typical price.
This is an aid, not a guarantee of safety. AI can misread labels. If you have a life-threatening allergy or strict religious dietary rules, always check the actual package. Items that cannot be determined are shown as "Unverified".
You can use up to 3 products per day for free. For more, we offer a 7-day pass, a monthly plan, and a yearly plan. Auto-renewing plans (monthly/yearly) can be canceled anytime in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. The 7-day pass does not auto-renew (it ends automatically when it expires).
Make sure the ingredient list (usually on the back) is clearly in frame. On the result screen, use "Scan the ingredients label" to retake and improve accuracy.
